Violin enthusiast, computer scientist nerd, crazy adventurer.
I guess this sums out who I am. To give you a bit more of an overview, I’ve just finished my PhD. in bioinformatics and after three long years I’ve decided that I needed some time for myself. One thing leading to another, I said goodbye to my friends and set off to my first ever bicycle tour, one that would see me through the most remote places of Argentina, Paraguay, Brasil and Chile. 8648km later I reach Ushuaia, come back to Paris and decide that this was definitely not enough for me.
This all brings us to the now, where I intend to travel around the globe and see more different cultures, more people to share experiences with and more landscape to discover.
To all of you out there questioning your ability to go on such a trip, know this:
- I didn’t do any sport beforehand. Just go slow at first, and trust that doing 5 daily hours (or more, or less) of bicycle will build up your muscles.
- I didn’t speak the language. If you can, try to learn it! People are always more welcoming when it’s virtually effortless for them to communicate with you.
- I don’t know the first thing about bicycles. Go to your local shop and learn the basic stuff, it isn’t all that hard.
- I had only few camping experiences before. I went on a few multi-days hikes, but I probably slept in a tent less than 20 times in my life before that.
